A MOTORIST was arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences and the possession of a bladed article after a pursuit by police.
North Wales Police called in the force helicopter to track the driver before he was arrested on his return to Caia Park in the early hours of this morning.
One of the officers involved in the arrest thanked residents via social media.
PC Thomas Hough tweeted: "Thank you to all residents of @wrexham for being understating with our sirens and helicopter. We have arrested the driver of the vehicle for a number of driving offences - disqualified driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop, drug driving and possession of a bladed article.
"My police car is now having a well earned rest after following what can only be described as driving that would of killed someone if that pursuit was not ended safely."
