A SCHOOL was evacuated and four pupils received treatment following a deliberate fire in a toilet block.
North Wales Fire and rescue Service received a call shortly after 11am on Friday reporting a blaze at St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School in Ffordd Llewelyn, Flint.
Two crews attended - one each from Flint and Deeside - and used a pair of hose reel jets as well as a set of breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
Fire officers concluded the incident - which took place in a girls toilet block - was caused by deliberate ignition.
Fire damage was caused to a cubicle and a light above. The toilet block was also 100 per cent damaged by smoke.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service told the Leader the school had to be evacuated and four pupils received treatment for smoke inhalation from members of the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The incident was declared over just before 12.30pm.
