POLICE have launched an appeal to all trades persons to photograph and make note of serial numbers on all high value hand held tools.

Police believe both photographing and making note of serial numbers on high value hand held tools such as drills and Stihl saws significantly assists the identification process.

They have also urged for trades persons to remove high value tools from vans overnight, but if this is impractical then vans can be reversed against garages or other vehicles to prevent access.

While there is no evidence of vans being targeted in Flintshire in the recent past, Wrexham traders were targeted on Tuesday night.
