POLICE in Wrexham are urging van drivers to be on their guard after a spate of thefts across area.
In the latest incidents reported to officers on September 27 and 28, thieves broke into a van in Gladwyn Road but fled when the alarm sounded.
In other incidents vans were targeted in Rhosnesni Lane, Wrexham, Grogen in Chirk, Talwrn Road in Coedpoeth and Fenwick Drive, Caia Park.
Inspector Vic Powell said; “Don’t leave items on view in your vehicle. Lock tools away or better still, remove them from the vehicle when you park. If you have a works van ensure it is fitted with an alarm.
“We will be carrying out extra patrols in areas where there has been a spike. If you see people acting suspiciously around vehicles or residential addresses call the police on 101 or use the live webchat at www.north-wales.police.uk/contact/live-chat-support"
