TWO people were arrested after cash and suspected drugs were seized, police have said.

North Wales Police south Flintshire Team has confirmed today that two males were stopped by officers in Park Avenue, Mold.

Following a search of the pair and the vehicle, a quantity of cash and suspected controlled drugs were found.

A police spokesman said the move came after a phone call from a very observant member of public who witnessed a 'suspicious incident'.

The operation included officers from the South Flintshire team, Cheshire and North Wales Armed Alliance Policing Unit, Cheshire and North Wales Police Dog Unit and North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit.

The spokesman added: "Both males were arrested, interviewed and are now released under investigation pending the forensic results on all items seized.
