THOUSANDS of people are expected to attend Flintshire’s top food festival.

With the Mold Food and Drink festival a few days away, organisers have lifted the lid on what can be expected over the two-day event.

The festival, which is in its 13th year, will be headlined by celebrity Masterchef winner Lisa Faulkner and other line-ups will feature Graham Tinsley, MBE and Michelin-starred Stephen Stevens.

Chairman John Les Tomos said the event has something for everyone.

He added: “From amateur cooks to families looking for a fun-filled foodie day out, the festival is jam-packed with great produce, activities and entertainment.

“We’ve pulled together some top tips to help visitors get the most out of the weekend and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors for what promises to be another exciting year.”

More than 100 food and drink exhibitors will be on hand offering their best products and a double decker bus, which serves as a bar, will be available.

Mold’s Fair-Trade group will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a baking competition that is open to all ages, entrants just need to bring three chocolate banana flower cupcakes between 10-11am on September 15. Recipe and ingredients are on the website www.moldfoodfestival.co.uk

The festival will be held on September 15 and 16 in Mold’s New Street Car Park from 10am to 5pm and tickets cost £7 for adults and £3 for children or £15 for a family of four. More information can be found on the website.
