VILLAGERS have been getting creative by taking part in a scarecrow competition.
The scheme, organised by cllr Cindy Hinds and resident Tracey Evans, has seen a number of different scarecrows pop up around Penyffordd.
The creations will be judged next week by members of Penyffordd Community Council and independent judges, with prizes to be handed out on Saturday, September 8.
Cllr Hinds said: "It is something we came up with for the village and it is something good for the children and families to do during the summer months.
"We thought it would be a nice way of bringing people together - that's what we're all about.
"It is also a way of giving people an insight into village life."
Penyfordd Community Council clerk Sarah Hughes told the Leader the event is something the community council hopes to support going forward.
