CHILDREN seeking to be the next Bear Grylls have the chance to learn their trade with weekly forest activities.

Nature play and Forest School, ran by freelancer Kay Ribbon-Steen, weekly workshops in the woods of Hawarden’s Gladstone Estate that include den building, mud pie making, learning about the nature that surrounds them and playing games to inspire and education children to appreciate their environment.

Kay has her own section of of woodland which she maintains, within which she has created a child friendly, safe zone with opportunity for kids to swing in a hammock, make pretend camps, play and learn together. Kay is very much about wellbeing and mindfulness, and that is at the very core of her sessions. She believes in connecting with nature to learn and develop these skills.

She also holds a weekly toddler session too every Monday between 10-11am called Blackberry buddies, this is for parent and child and costs £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.
