A SHOOTING range could be given a new lease of life as holiday accommodation.
Plans received by Flintshire Council propose the change of use of a site in Pant y Goff, Halkyn, from a shooting range to holiday lodges.
A design and access statement explains: "The applicant seeks consent for eight holiday lodges. Six of the units will have three beds and
two of the units will have one bed.
"The proposed three bed units are described as Millington Specials and the one bed units are described as Spider Pods, they are designed and constructed by a local company based in Caerwys.
"It is intended that the three bed lodges are owner occupied and the two one bed units are for rental purposes.
"The proposed units proportion and mass are significantly smaller in scale than the surrounding farm buildings and dwellings.
"It will also allow a more tranquil use of the site, more in keeping with local surroundings and current use of the site as a shooting range."
According to the application, the scheme currently employs one part time employee but if approved an additional full time job would also be created.
