A FLINTSHIRE based cement production company is on the look out for its latest intake of university graduates.

Hanson UK is on the hunt for its latest intake of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) graduates.

In addition to an attractive starting salary of £25,500, which could double within the first five years, the structured graduate trainee manager programme is challenging and rewarding and gives participants exposure to different areas of the business over a period of two or three years.

Levent Bayraktar joined the programme last year. He previously carried out work experience at Hanson’s Padeswood Cement Works in North Wales when he was in secondary school and was keen to apply after completing a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester and a Masters in Engineering Management at Manchester Metropolitan University.

He said: “I knew Hanson provided outstanding engineering opportunities in which I could gain excellent professional development with the chance to travel nationally and internationally.''

“I am really enjoying working with the team on site and with my fellow graduates nationally.”

Levent has already attended courses at HeidelbergCement, Hanson’s parent company, in Germany and will compete placements at both of Hanson’s other cement works in Ketton, Rutland, and Ribblesdale, Clitheroe, before completing the programme.

He added: “Graduates have a high profile within Hanson and are given access to help, advice and support on a one-to-one basis from all areas and levels within the business,” he added. “I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a fast-paced, innovative environment.”
