The son of a local rock legend is returning home to play at this weekends Rock the Park Festival in Wrexham, ten years on from his fathers death.

Harley Todd, 45, who was born and raised in Ffordd Llewelyn, Flint, is the son of Alan (Ali) Todd who was a well known figure in the rock and biking community before his death at the age of just 58 in 2008.

Harley, who has lived in London for the past 15 years, is the front man of Oxford based hard rock band Kings of the Rocket Men said it's a twist of fate that his band has been booked to play the festival so close to the anniversary.

"Its been ten years next week since I've been back to North Wales, I suppose we all mourn in different ways.

"Then an opportunity came to our table for a reunion gig through the organiser of Rock the Park, Wrexham, which is where my dad was laid to rest almost ten years to the day."

Harley says the gig today will be dedicated to his Dad, who was a front man, in an AC/DC covers band and it will also provide him with an opportunity to get some closure.

He added: "I remember doing a song on stage with him at his 50th birthday, sadly it was the only time we shared the stage.

"Dad was well known in the Flintshire and Wrexham areas and was a member of the Hell's Angel for a while, which would probably scare a few people off these days!

"The Evening Leader did a tribute piece to my Dad shortly after he died and it even includes an old photo of him with his friends, sat on his motorbike, outside the paper's office on King Street."

Rock the Park Festival takes place this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) on a site just off Borras Hall Lane with Harley and his band playing on the Rotary Stage at 7.30pm tonight.
