RETAIL storage space is to be transformed into homes.
A planning application received by Flintshire Council in June requested permission to change the use of the upper floors of the former Pot Luck shop in Chester Road West, Shotton, to residential use.
The application, which proposed the creation of three single bedroom apartments, states the space is currently used as a retail unit with a studio flat and retail storage.
Flintshire Council has now confirmed the scheme has been given the go-ahead by planning officers.
A design and access statement submitted with the plans explains: "The building is extremely run down and no maintenance work has occurred for over 25 years.
"The development ensures much needed one bedroom apartments for the area and regenerates a dilapidated building on the high street."
According to the document, there is no car parking available as the development is located on the high street, but a new pedestrian access will be created to the rear of the property.
