ARMED police descended on a Flintshire village in a search for assault suspects.
Bagillt councillor Mike Reece told the Leader that on Saturday night five police cars arrived in the village and a cordon was set up at Pen-y-Glyn.
He added several armed officers wearing riot gear attended the incident, which he said lasted several hours from about 9pm onwards.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "We had a report that an individual had been robbed and assaulted by two men at an address in Greenfield, Holywell, on Friday at around 11.30pm.
"On Saturday we attended an address in Bagillt looking for the suspects.
"They were not located, but our enquiries continue."
A resident of Bagillt, who asked not to be named, told the Leader they saw "loads of armed police with dogs and riot shields raiding a house."
