SUNSHINE was in store for hundred of horseracing fans at this summer's family fun day.

Chester Racecourse was filled for another day of relaxing and racing as families packed their picnics and gazebo's for the family-friendly annual event.

Free entertainment was on hand to to keep the kids busy throughout the day, such as crafts, giant games, a climbing wall and enjoy the inflatable play zone.

Special guests from Chester FC’s first team were on site, operating a football zone, shot practice, beat the keeper, mini games and skills sessions.

A beauty bar offered tots hair braiding, nail painting and face art

Face painting, a petting zoo and a giant colouring-in wall were all enjoyed before Storyhouse hosted story-telling sessions and competition where the winner clinched tickets to The Wizard of Oz later this autumn.

Parents were kept occupied by the seven races throughout the afternoon, broadcasted by Dee 106.
