Following the mid-summer break, racing returns to Bangor-on-Dee on Friday, August 3, with the eagerly-anticipated Ladies Day fixture.

The picturesque North Wales track is set for a glamorous day with the focus around the paddock being the Ladies Best Dressed Competition, with prizes on offer including spa treatments at Old Port Spa, Aber Falls Gin and Golden Square Shopping Centre vouchers.

Prizes are available for the three best-dressed women on the day, and ladies can enter by having their photograph taken by one of the best dressed team on the Paddock Lawn between 11.30am and 3pm, as well as submitting their contact details.

All competition entries with receive an online version of their photo to download as a memento of the day.

The judging panel will be made up of Fiona Harrington-Wright, founder of Old Port Spa, and Ian Cox, centre director at Golden Square in Warrington. The big reveal will take place in the parade ring at 4pm.

Course officials have been kept busy over the summer months ensuring the track is raceable following the heat wave and unusually dry period throughout June and July.

A busy seven-race card gets underway at 1.30pm with the Close Brothers Mares’ Maiden Hurdle, while the feature race is the Fraser Wealth Management Handicap Chase for horses rated 0-135.
