FIREFIGHTERS faced a stinky situation when they were called to a large quantity of horse manure that had caught fire.
The crew from Malpas attended the scene in Chorlton Lane, Cuddington, just before 7.45pm yesterday (Monday, June 11).
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from Malpas used a hose reel jet and stack drags to extinguish a pile of horse manure which was on fire at a farm on Chorlton Lane.
"After extinguishing the fire the crew used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots.
"The team were in attendance for approximately one hour.
