IN a typical game of golf, you might expect to see an eagle or two - but not a full grown bull standing on the fairway.

But that's exactly what happened at the Vale of Llangollen Golf Club on Saturday after a bull broke through a fence to a neighbouring field and made its way onto the second hole.

The Leader:

Bob Hardy, club manager at the Vale of Llangollen Golf Course, said: "It ended up okay, funny but it could have been worse.

"Some young heifers were released onto the neighbouring field and they were quite excited and ended up breaking through the fence. The bull was quite interested and ended up following them onto the fairway.

"The fellow on the course had experience with stock, so he knew what to do, but other people might not have known.

The Leader:

"The farmer has raised the bull from a calf, so it is like a pet. Fortunately the farmer wasn't far away otherwise we might have had to close the course or someone might have got hurt.

"We want to remain good neighbours though and the farmer was very apologetic."
