A 19-YEAR-OLD has received a two-year suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to internet porn charges which included images of young boys.

Jack Rosedale, of Belmont Drive, Saltney Ferry, pleaded guilty to six charges when he appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court.

One was of an attempt to communicate with a person under 16 for sexual gratification.

Ryan Rothwell, prosecuting, said an online messaging service was involved in the mobile phone offences last October which suggested Rosedale had a sexual interest in young boys. He had denied this, however.

Jemma Gordon, defending, pointed out Rosedale had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

Judge Niclas Parry ordered Rosedale to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and must attend a special probation programme for 29 weeks and also 30 sessions of a rehabilitation requirement.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and his computer must be made available for inspection by the police.

Judge Parry told Rosedale he had made proactive attempts to find indecent images of children and to engage with them in what had become a poisonous use of social media, but had been remorseful from the outset.

"It's clear you have acted completely out of character," said the judge.

"Crucially the number of images is small, one in each category.

"For these reasons I can do something which will benefit the public."
