AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a man who was hit by a train near Gwersyllt station last week.
James Manchester, 30, of High Street, Gwersyllt, was killed when hit by a Bidston to Wrexham train at about 11.20pm on Wednesday, April 15.
At a brief hearing in Ruthin yesterday John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, said he had been informed by British Transport Police that Mr Manchester had apparently walked into the path of the train.
A decision on the cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology tests and the hearing was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Among floral tributes left near the scene Mr Manchester was described as “a loved son, Dad, brother and uncle” and as “a cracking lad”.
