FANS OF the BBC show Antiques Roadtrip might spot a familiar location from the Wrexham area on their televisions later this year.

The antiques experts from the programme and a television crew visited Bryn y Grog Hall in Marchwiel this week.

The show features two antiques experts who travel around the country to various antiques shops in search of a priceless treasure, and hopes of a bargain.

Experts Paul Laidlaw and Catherine Southon perused the trinkets and collectibles on offer at Bryn y Grog Hall, although what they actually bought remains tightly under wraps until the broadcast.

Bryn y Grog is run by husband and wife team Craig and Mandy Price, although different people run their own shops within the antiques emporium.

Speaking about her experience with the Antiques Roadtrip film crew, Mandy said: “It was really good, but they were there a long, long time.

“We can’t disclose what the experts bought, but apparently the show will be on television towards the end of the year.”

She added: “The film crew were really friendly and the experts showed an interest in the hall and asked about the building.”

A BBC spokesman said it was not yet known when the programme would be aired later this year.
