FAMILY and friends got together in memory of an “inspirational” grandmother who died last year.

Kate Reynolds, 71, from Buckley, has been described as an “elegant lady, full of joy and laughter”.

She is missed by her children, Simon, Richard and Susan, and her four grandchildren after passing away in the autumn of 2017.

In memory of the gran who carried on dancing until her final weeks, Mrs Reynolds’ dance friends hosted a charity fundraiser at Caffi Isa in Mynydd Isa on Saturday.

The event was ‘a fundraiser dedicated to celebrating Kate Reynolds’ life with the style and grace that she gave to everything she did’.

Joanne McKinstry, who has taken part in fitness classes with Mrs Reynolds for many years, said the fit and “very glamorous lady” was the life and soul of the fitness classes.

Mrs McKinstry said: “Kate loved exercising and I danced many classes with her including ZumbaGold, dance fit, and pilates.

“The fundraiser was held for two charities, the Clatterbridge Cancer charity and Macmillan.”

Daughter Susan Kitchen said of her “positive and loving” mother: “She was a nurse herself at the old City Hospital in Chester.

“She worked for a good few years as a community nurse serving Blacon and Lache.”

Mrs Reynolds was also a bursar at Little Sutton Primary School.
