A TEENAGER was arrested by an off duty policeman after he saw him standing in the middle road trying to kick passing cars.

Appearing at Flintshire Magistrates Court, Jordan Lee Roberts, 19, pleaded guilty to charges of being drunk and disorderly and being in possession of a Class A drug - cocaine - following the incident in Connah’s Quay on the evening of March 14.

Rhian Jackson, prosecuting, said the officer saw Roberts near a cash point on Church Street where he was being confrontational and asking a group of girls for drugs.

The officer then saw him walk out into the middle of the road where he kicked a vehicle being driven past him whereupon the officer arrested him.

Once in custody, officers found a quantity of cocaine tucked into the elastic band of Roberts’ trousers and in interview the teenager said he had been out drinking since 2pm and could not remember anything.

Fiona Larkin, defending, said Roberts, of Cae Drew, Flint, had no previous convictions and had gone out drinking after an argument with his girlfriend.

District judge Gwyn Jones told Roberts he had been guilty of “stupid behaviour” and fined him £100 for the drunk and disorderly charge and £150 for possession of a Class A drug.

Roberts will also pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
