A MAN arrested after the discovery of an illegal cannabis factory at Mold has been locked up at his own request.

Lee Alexander, 34, of Queens Road in Chester, had previously admitted conspiring to produce and supply cannabis.

It followed the discovery of a cannabis factory at an industrial unit on the Bromfield Industrial Estate at Mold.

His sentence had been adjourned pending the trial of a co-defendant charged with money laundering but that trial has now been put back until November.

Alexander made an application to rescind his bail so that he could start serving his prison sentence.

The application was granted and he was remanded in custody at Mold Crown Court.
