OWNERS of a kebab shop in Ellesmere Port are celebrating after skewering a top industry gong.
The Ellesmere Port Kebab and Pizza House has been named the Best Regional Takeaway at this year's British Kebab Awards.
A glitzy awards bash took place Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, hosted by BBC presenters Scott Mills and Chris Stark.
Anzar Sayak, of the Regent Street takeaway, said: “We want to say a massive thank you to all of our customers who have supported us and had faith in us and a special thank you to Justin Madders and Chris Matheson for their support.”
Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Mr Madders had backed the kebab shop from the start, and said he was delighted they had won. He attended the awards ceremony with Labour colleague and Chester MP Mr Matheson.
“This is a tremendous accolade,” said Mr Madders. “Congratulations to the lads.”
