SEVERAL clubs are rumoured to be chasing the signature of Welsh schoolboy international Ross Frame, who has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Mid Wales football.
However manager Mike Barton will fight tooth and nail to keep the prolific striker (pictured right) at Guilsfield, after the 18-year-old netted 20 goals in his debut season in the Cymru Alliance.
Barton believes the Caereinion High School student wants to stay at the Community Centre Ground and hopes he will lead the line for the Guils next season.
Barton also hit out at online stories, which he says are unsettling his prize hitman.
Barton fumed: “I read the Welsh Premier’s unofficial website, which ran a completely incorrect story about Ross having already signed a deal with a Welsh Premier club for next season.
“That is a complete load of rubbish and I have since spoken to Ross, who told me he wants to stay at Guilsfield.”
Frame is one of the region’s top young players having broken into senior football at Spar Mid Wales League side Carno in 2008.
He was also part of the Llanfair Caereinion under 18s side which won the Welsh FA Minute Maid Cup last season.
Over the past 12 months Frame has also had a taste of international football in the Welsh Schoolboys squad.
