Five people have been arrested in connection with a spate of burglaries at commercial premesis in Wrexham.
North Wales Police have arrested five men, aged between 17 and 27, after a warrant was executed at an address in Caia Park at 9.30am today.
Police said the arrests were linked to "high value" burglaries, including a recent raid on a jewellers in the town centre.
Detective Chief Inspector Arwyn Jones said: "This was a focused operation, targeting specific individuals following a recent spate of high value burglaries in the town centre, the first being the blatant attack at a jewellers in the middle of the afternoon on Jne 19.
"This morning a team made up of CID and uniformed officers executed a warrant at an address in Caia Park and the males were arrested.
"Property, which we believe is linked to two of three burglaries, was also recovered."
The individuals are currently being held at Wrexham Police Station awaiting interview.
DCI Jones added: "In line with the Police Crime Commissioner’s priorities, we will ensure a safer neighbourhood.
"Local businesses are absolutely at that heart of our neighbourhoods and communities and we will relentlessly, and proactively target those who seek to commit offences against them.”
