ROB EVANS has signed a deal with big-spending Billericay Town.

The 21-year-old, who hails from Penycae and made over 100 appearances for his hometown club prior to his release last month, will link up with the Essex outfit in the Isthmian League Premier Division, two tiers below the National League.

Billericay are owned by millionaire Glenn Tamplin who has signed former Premier League players including Jamie O’Hara and Paul Konchesky since purchasing the club in December.

On a busy weekend for Billericay, Evans was joined by Welling’s Dan Walker  and Danny Waldren, plus Josh Urquhart and Louie Theophanous, with Ian Hendon coming in as director of football.

Ex-Wrexham winger Iffy Allen has joined fellow National League side Bromley on a one-year deal.

Dover Athletic have signed Mitch Brundle on a two-year deal following his release from Gateshead, with the north-east club moving to sign Richard Peniket on a one-year contract from Halifax Town.

Sean McGinty has signed a new one-year deal with Torquay United, having played 49 times last season, and Rotherham United have snapped up Tranmere Rovers defender Michael Ihiekwe on a two-year deal.

Solihull Moors have bolstered their ranks. Kalem Thomas joins from Boston while Luke Benbow and Chris Lait have signed from Stourbridge.
