CAERWYS 3
LLANGYNHAFAL 5

THERE’S a novel feeling for Llangynhafal to enjoy.

For the first time this season, Martin Dyer’s charges were able to contemplate back-to-back wins and the success at Caerwys means that Llangynhafal have climbed above Llanfair in the standings.

It was the visitors who managed to break the deadlock after 20 minutes thanks to Tirion Roberts.

It was level 10 minutes from the interval as a brilliant Nick Voyle chip from 25 yards out found the top corner.

Llangynhafal regained their lead early in the second half on the back of Mike Sharples’ deflected shot, but Caerwys sensed possible victory when Voyle levelled again.

However, a three-goal burst from the visitors sealed the points.

A second Sharples goal made it 3-2, before Tom Dyer set up Louis Needs as Llangynhafal netted a fourth.

Makeshift striker Ifan Hafal scored with a cracking header from a Jack Crompton cross for the fifth.

Caerwys had the final word as joint-boss Shaun Davies slotted in a late consolation.

For Llangynhafal, Tirion Roberts was man of the match, while Louis Needs played well in midfield. Stand-in Caerwys keeper Liam Vaughan did well between the posts and the experienced Ieuan Davies gave a committed display.
