CAERWYS 2
LLANFAIR 0
AT the ninth time of asking, Caerwys were finally able to celebrate their first Summer League win of the 2011 campaign.
A goal in each half from talisman Nick Voyle did the trick to settle matters in the home side’s favour, although it was a tight encounter versus Roger Beech’s Llanfair.
Voyle had Caerwys in front midway through the first half with a free header.
The clinching goal arrived with 20 minutes to go as Voyle hit home a fine free kick.
As pleasing for team bosses John Owens and Shaun Davies was the fact that Caerwys kept a clean sheet.
Llanfair did deliver a number of crosses into the box, but they didn’t really create any chances of note.
The Llanfair Tengo Media man of the match was Elgan Lightfoot.
