Half-a-dozen bands will entertain a community as part of a celebration on a town square.

Live on the Square, an event organised by volunteers with the help of Mold Town Council, will be held in the town’s Daniel Owen Square on Sunday, April 30.

The organisers secured grant funding from the National Lottery to secure the viability of Live on the Square.

Cllr Anthony Parry, Mayor of Mold, said: “This is the sort of event which Daniel Owen Square has been built for.

“We are pleased to have secured the help of the National Lottery to help fund the event and grateful to all of the community volunteers who have worked hard to make Live on the Square a reality.”

Ska band Skariad will open the show at 1pm, before they are followed by Hawker, Six Ton Dog, Sidewinder, Babylon Leaf and finishing with 50 Hertz at 8.05pm.

The event will open at 12.15pm and finish by 9.30pm.

Dave Hill, Mold town manager, said: “Numbers are strictly limited and with tickets selling extremely well, if you want to come to what is sure to be one of the great events in the Mold calendar, you are advised to get tickets in advance from either of the two main ticket outlets.”

Admission prices are £8 on the day, and £5 in advance from either Bargain Booze or Mold Town Hall.

There are no concessions and under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Due to licensing restrictions, no alcohol can be taken into the event, but will be available to buy.

Camping-style chairs can be taken onto the Square, but chairs will be available for hire on the day as well.

Anyone wishing to volunteer on the day is asked to contact Mold Town Council by email on supportofficer@mold towncouncil.org.uk or by calling 01352 758532.
