FOCUS Wales have confirmed a show in Wrexham as part of Independent Venue Week.

Working alongside the famous American music festival and conference South by Southwest (SXSW), the gig at The Live Rooms, Wrexham, will take place on Friday, February 1 and will feature three exciting Welsh acts.

Wrexham electronic band Gallops announced their break up in 2013, but in 2016, almost three years to the day, they announced their return, saying: “We missed it too much, basically having some time away from the band gave us a fresh perspective and made us realise that Gallops still has life in it. It just needed a nap.”

Kidsmoke, also from Wrexham, spent the summer in the studio with long-time producer Russ Hayes, working on their forthcoming debut album while for their single Rising Sun, they took a trip out to West Kirby to record with former The Coral guitarist and Domino Records artist Bill Ryder-Jones.

Both bands, who we be joined by Glove on the night, will be flying the flag for Wales at SXSW in Austin, Texas, this March.

Tickets costing £7 are available from www.facebook.com/FOCUSWALES/EVENTS
