There are more adorable animals at a North Wales rescue centre looking for their forever home.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find the love and stability they deserve.

The team of staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are most likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

NCAR - Jessie.

NCAR - Jessie.

Jessie is a sweet four-year-old girl who was returned to the rescue as her owners were unable to cope with her behaviour. In the home she is described as being perfect, however, out and about she can be quite reactive to other dogs. At the rescue they managed this behaviour through good lead control, and would be looking for a home who is able to work alongside their behaviour team to manage this behaviour. Generally, she is well behaved and with good handling, walks beautifully on the lead. She is fully house trained, loves nothing more than chasing a ball and will flourish in the right environment.

Clover and Thistle are a lovely duo who are two-and-a-half-years-old. They originally came into the centre's care when they were very young, they were rehomed and very loved but unfortunately had to be returned due to ill health. They are very friendly and sociable and they love to run and play together. They have previously been kept as house rabbits but they could adjust to living outdoors, providing they have a safe and secure area with shelter or living in a shed/outbuilding.

NCAR - Ted.

Ted is an impressive, eight-month-old German shepherd mix who came to the rescue as his owner was unable to manage him. He is a big, boisterous boy, and would require a home used to large guarding breeds and the input they require. He is still a baby and has a lot of learning to do. He needs a home where he is going to go on lots of adventures to really keep his mind active. He can be quite barky when he is unsure. He is not a dog for the faint hearted, he will need strong guidance and a lot of input but you would be rewarded with a loyal and faithful companion.

Millie is an eight-month-old female who came into care due to a change of circumstances. She is a friendly girl who loves having a fuss and and a race around after toys. She is looking for a quiet home where she is the only pet. She hasn’t been outside much but definitely has potential to adapt once she is settled. In her next home she will benefit from being kept in one room initially as she settles and gets familiar with where her litter tray is kept, and then slowly being introduced to the rest of the home.

NCAR - Sammy.

NCAR - Sammy.

Sammy is a four-and-a-half-year-old Jack Russell cross who has recently been returned to the rescue due to no fault of his own. He is a friendly lad who is lively and inquisitive, he loves being on the go and is looking for an active home with people who will take him out and about on adventures. His previous owners have reported he was generally well behaved in the home, is house trained, crate trained and fine being left for a couple of hours. He can be reactive to some dogs and it tends to be quite random in regards to which dogs he likes and those that he doesn’t, he is looking to be the only pet in his next home. Sammy does not like cats and will chase them. The centre will advise his next owners how best to manage these behaviours.

Demi is a two-year-old female who came into care after being found as a stray. She is a friendly girl who likes a fuss and loves her food. She is looking for a home in an area that is safe for her to explore, away from busy roads. She can be rehomed with sensible children 10+. She isn’t keen on other cats so is looking for a home as the only pet.
