There are more adorable animals at a North Wales rescue centre looking for their forever home.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find the love and stability they deserve.

The team of staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are most likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

NCAR - Steven.

NCAR - Steven.

Steven is a one-year-old male who came into our care due to a relationship split. He is a friendly boy who loves attention and can be quite needy. He is used to living in a family environment and could go to a family with children over five years old. He is looking to be the only cat in his next home. He has previously had access to the outdoors, so is looking for a new home in an area that is safe for him to explore.

NCAR - Frank.

NCAR - Frank.

Frank is a lovely boy, who is seven-years-old, who originally came to the rescue from the pound. He was rehomed but was returned for showing aggression towards visitors to the home. We believe this to be guarding behaviour and so anyone looking to adopt Frank would have to be prepared to work alongside our behaviour team to put a behaviour plan into place. He is house trained and loves to run around chasing balls. He can be a nervous boy in certain situations, and can be growly when being groomed. He is ok with most dogs but he has taken a disliking to some, so he would need to be kept controlled around other dogs. In the right home, there is no doubt Frank will make a wonderful pet.

NCAR - Jessie and Willow.

NCAR - Jessie and Willow.

Jessie (black and white) and Willow (tabby) are a pair of eight-month-old sisters. They came into care due to no fault of their own, and are looking for a new home together. They have lived with dogs in their previous home, so with sensible introductions they could be rehomed with cat-savvy dogs. They are looking for a home with children over 10 years. They have not had access to the outdoors yet, so they can either be kept as house cats or due to their age they do have potential to adapt to the outdoors.

NCAR Todd.

NCAR Todd.

Todd is a sweet 10-month-old boy who came as a stray. He is very nervous at the rescue, although he does come out of his shell a little more off site. Underneath his nerves, he is a fun boy who loves a good cuddle. He can be a little barky with other dogs but this is just down to his nervousness. He has made friends with dogs at the centre, and is quite happy around them once he knows them. He loves a good run around the paddock in true lurcher style. He does have a prey drive, so he would not be able to be rehomed with other small animals, and we wouldn’t rehome him with small dogs either. We also do not know if he is house trained.

NCAR - Wilma.

NCAR - Wilma.

Wilma is a beautiful large breed rabbit, possibly a British Giant, approximately two-years-old. She found her way to the centre after being left abandoned in a box outside a vets. Wilma is looking for a home with a neutered male large breed rabbit to bond with. She will require a large shed or outbuilding and a secure large area to play in, and loves to stretch her legs and explore. Wilma loves her food and does like to eat a lot, particularly her hay. She is a very friendly girl who is fine to be handled and stroked. She can be rehomed in a home with sensible older children.

NCAR Chase.

NCAR Chase.

• One-year-old Chase is a feisty little terrier who originally came to the rescue due to being aggressive towards a child. For this reason, we would not rehome Chase where there are any children living or visiting. Chase was rehomed twice, and returned for showing aggression in the home. Chase is generally a friendly little guy who thrives in the company of other dogs. We have not seen any issues from him at the rescue and he has passed several behavioural assessments with flying colours – however, anyone interested in Chase would have to be willing to listen to and work with our rehoming and behaviour team and put a strict routine and boundaries in place for Chase.
