There are more fluffy and furry animals at a North Wales rescue centre looking for their forever home.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find the love and stability they deserve.

The team of staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are most likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

Sonny.

Sonny.

Sonny is a young boy who came to the rescue with his mum, Mamma. He is really sweet but gets a little overwhelmed with new things. He need a home with people who will take guidance from our rehoming and behaviour team as to how to introduce him to the world, so he grows to be a confident and sociable adult. He is very good with people but he is very unsure of other dogs, horses and any new experiences. He will need a very active home, where he will be taken on lots of different walks to different places. Due to the work required, we feel he would be best suited to a home with older children.

Dembe.

Dembe.

Dembe is a handsome long haired male cat aged two years. He came to the rescue after his owners had a baby. He is an affectionate lad but it can be on his terms. We are looking for an adult home or older teenagers who know when to give him some space. He will need to be the only pet in the house. He is used to going outside but in a quiet area roadwise.

Penny.

Penny.

Penny is a sweet girl who was signed over to the rescue. She is very high energy and will need lots of different and interesting walks, and a lot of exposure to different environments to keep her happy. She can be reactive to other dogs, however, we have been working on this with her. She will need a home where this training is carried on. She is a little unsure of new things, so positive exposure to new experiences is an absolute must. She is fully housetrained and is also crate trained. She has not yet been tested with cats. Due to her age and the input she needs, we would be looking for a home where Penny is not left for long periods.

Spike.

Spike.

Spike is originally from Dubai, where following an injury, he had to have an eye removed. After being brought over here he was kept in a house with five adult male cats, which didn't work. We are looking for a large home for him where he can be a house cat or a home that has a fully cat proof garden. We are looking for a home for him as the only pet with someone who has time to play with him. He is a friendly lad who likes attention but has not lived with children, we will consider older teenagers. Spike is 17-months-old.

Fury.

Fury.

• Fury is an independent boy of about six years, who came to the rescue as a stray. He is a terrier and has a big personality. He is really scared of human interaction and does not like to be touched. He will react defensively to this. He will need a very specific home with people who are willing to put the time into desensitising him to hands and working on his confidence. He will need people who understand that he does not want to be handled and it will be a gradual and lengthy process to get him to a point of being comfortable with general handling. Off lead in our paddock, he will bolt around and play with you, and he does initiate interaction. He needs a home with no other animals and cannot be around children, living or visiting.

Theo.

Theo.

• Theo is a handsome black and white five-year-old male. He was originally a kitten from the centre and has returned after his owner sadly passed away. Theo is looking for a quiet, adult only home. He needs to be the only pet in the family. It takes a while for Theo to get to know you as he is shy around new people but once he does he likes a stroke and will play with toys. We are looking for an experienced cat owner as Theo can be unpredictable in nature and has been known to bite. Ideally we would like a rural home where he could have a conservatory or utility room to sleep in but be out and about during the day, safely exploring away from any busy roads.
