PLATT The funeral has taken place of Thomas (Tom) Platt who lived at East Avenue, Rhosddu, Wrexham and passed away peacefully at Wrexham Maelor Hospital on 8th August 2019, aged 96 years. Tom was married to his beloved wife, the late Audrey, for almost 54 years. He leaves his loving daughters Jill and Joy, his treasured grandchildren Catrin, Llinos, Thomas and Seren and his dear sons-in-law Gwyn and Hywel. Tom was born on August 10th 1922 in Rhosddu, the eldest of four children, and lived there his whole life, other than during his wartime service in the RAF. He and Audrey married in 1957 and spent a long and happy life together raising a family and cherishing their grandchildren. The funeral service was at St. Margaret's Church, Garden Village, Wrexham, followed by cremation at Pentrebychan Crematorium on 28th August 2019 and was conducted by Rev. Sue Huyton. In addition to his immediate family, mourners included his many dear relatives, friends and neighbours, too numerous to mention. Flowers were sent by Jill, Gwyn, Catrin, Llinos and Seren, and Joy, Hywel and Thomas. Donations in lieu of flowers amounting to £900 were made in Tom's memory to the Special Care Baby Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Thanks - Jill, Joy and family wish to extend their sincere thanks to all family, friends and neighbours for the kindness and sympathy shown to them during their recent sad bereavement. A special thank you for the generous donations received in memory of Tom. Many thanks also to Rev. Sue Huyton for the lovely funeral service, and to Mr Mike Logue, RAF Branch Support Officer for all his assistance and thoughtfulness. The caring and thoughtful funeral arrangements of Roberts Bros were much appreciated.
