WREXHAM are set to announce their new manager tomorrow.

Dean Keates left to take charge of Walsall in March and his assistant, Andy Davies, was appointed manager until the end of the season.

A disappointing run-in meant Wrexham missed out on the play-offs and a new boss will be named ahead of an 11th campaign in non-league.

Former Wales international Sam Ricketts, aged 36, has been heavily linked with the vacancy.

Ricketts was a vastly experienced defender who played for the likes of Oxford United, Swansea City, Hull City, Bolton Wanderers, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City, as well as winning 52 caps for his country, before hanging up his boots in November 2016 because of a knee injury.

Ricketts has been coaching in the youth set-up at Wolves.

Former Torquay manager Kevin Nicholson, Craig Harrison, who worked with Reds’ coach Carl Darlington at The New Saints, another former Welsh international Craig Bellamy and current Solihull Moors manager Mark Yates have also been linked with the job.
