VINTAGE vehicle enthusiasts enjoyed a classic car event.

Crowds flocked to Glyndyfrdwy for Llangollen Railway’s classic transport event, to see a variety of motorcycles, buses and cars from times gone by.

Vintage vehicles of all types filled the field behind the station with buses and cars dominating the scene and a notable collection of motorcycles brought together by the British Motorcycle Preservation Society.

Llangollen Railway’s George Jones hailed the “good weather” and said: “The location by the river Dee was popular with many of the vintage cars owners enjoying a picnic whilst others took in the passing scene or went for a ride on the train.”

With two steam locomotives operating, plus a big diesel engine and the heritage Wickham railcar there were plenty of trains between Llangollen, Carrog and Corwen calling at Glyndyfrdwy.

As an alternative visitors enjoyed the road run on the A5 to Corwen on board the open top Leyland Olympian and other vintage buses recalling the transport of the 1960s and 70s.
