North Wales Crusaders cannot afford to 'feel sorry for themselves' after their latest setback, according to head coach Anthony Murray,

Successive league victories had lifted the Wrexham club before their 46-28 home defeat to Keighley last weekend.

Frustrated at his side's lapses in the first half of that loss, Murray has now called fore a swift response in Sunday's home clash with Coventry Bears.

He said: "It was a tough one to take against Keighley because we started the game so well, I thought.

"But we fell into that into that trap again of not completing our sets, not turning a ball over in the corner and making Keighley work out of the corner and making them work hard.

"With a 40 per cent completion rate you can't expect to do well against a top-six side like Keighley and we gave ourselves way too much to do.

"But there's no time for the players to feel sorry for themselves now and we've been working hard this week to put things right in terms of our structures and ensuring we complete our sets.

"There's a lot of repetition in training and we'll keep working hard to make sure we improve in key areas and that our fitness levels keep getting better and better.

"Once we find a bit more balance within our team, and a big part of that is self-belief and a bit of confidence - the better we'll play."

The League One table remains densely-packed after 10 games this term, with the Cru just five points off the top six in 10th place.

Murray is adamant that his side are capable of attaining a top-six finish this season but will take nothing for granted against a struggling Coventy side that have lost nine games already this term.

"The league is still so tight this season" he added.

"Our aim has got to be in that top six. With the squad we have on paper and the dual reg we have with Widnes we've already shown that we can compete with the top teams in this division.

"We know Coventry are going to come here and fancy their chances after our defeat last weekend.

"They haven't had the best of seasons so far and will be out to get some more points on the board I'm sure.

"They've got quite a few players in their line-up who I'm familiar with from my time at Gloucester, so I've got a good idea what to expect.

" From our point of view though, we want to control the game and we'll do that by respecting possession more, cutting out silly errors

being more direct going forward and completing our sets.

"We've shown already that we're a capable side against top teams, we need to start showing it on a weekly basis now."

Fullback Tommy Johnson is set to return for the Cru along with Jonny Walker and Alex Thompson.

Powerful prop forward Brad Brennan could start after crossing for two late tries against Keighley, while Lee Hudson, Ryan Millington and James Dandy miss out through injury.
