Anthony Murray says North Wales Crusaders' away clash with Doncaster is a 'completely different animal' to their recent Welsh derby success.

The Cru coach enjoyed a winning return to competitive action in his first match in charge as his side stormed to a comprehensive 54-6 victory at West Wales Raiders.

A one-sided contest saw the Cru run in 10 tries from eight different scorers and earned the Wrexham club their first League One win this season.

Despite his satisfaction with the result, Murray knows his side will need to be much stronger against a 'solid' Doncaster outfit.

He said: "We need to build on last week's result in the derby and improve in quite a few areas.

"It's all very well going down to West Wales and racking up some points but we need to build on it now and that 's the challenge ahead of us.

"We're not getting carried away after just one game.

"It will build our confidence - especially in defence, but going up to Doncaster will be a different story and we'll need to be much better.

"This game is a completely different animal in terms of what we're going up against.

"I think we had something like a 55 per cent completion rate against West Wales, which isn’t good enough in itself and we'll be punished for that against better sides like Doncaster.

"They're a really big side and physically we'll need to be a lot sharper to get anything out of the game.

“We’ll go looking to give them a game, but we know that we’ll have to improve in a lot of areas from last weekend if we want to get something out of that game.

“Our aim will be to go there and look to give a good account of ourselves.”
