IT was a day to remember for Stuart Reardon as he celebrated his testimonial in style.

Reardon scored for both North Wales Crusaders and opponents West Bowling as the Wrexham-based side ran out 48-26 winners.

Centre Reardon scored the fifth try of the day for Crusaders, who had head coach Anthony Murray in their side.

And the popular back then scored - and converted - an effort for West Bowling after swapping sides.

“Massive thank you to everyone involved yesterday. #2016testimonial legends!” tweeted Reardon.

It was one-way traffic in the first-half of the encounter as Ryan Millington, Andrew Joy, Adam Saunders, Alex Thompson, Tommy Holland and Reardon all crossed the whitewash for Crusaders, who went in at the break leading 32-0.

West Bowling regrouped at the interval, and although they fell further behind early on in the second period, they impressed.

Reardon scored eight of the West Bowling points as they won the second-half 26-18.

Crusaders got themselves on the scoresheet through Jack Hansen, Tommy Johnson and kit man Simon Cooke, who ran the length of the pitch late on.

“Not stopped grinning yet!!” tweeted Cooke as he reflected on his memorable try.

Even those that could not be there to celebrate the occasion sent messages of support to Reardon.

“Good luck to @stureardon today in his testimonial, nailed on for MOTM today dinosaur, all the best pal,”  tweeted former Crusaders ace Jono Smith, who left The Racecourse at the end of last season to sign for Rochdale Hornets.
