Queen's Park endured a miserable end to their Cymru Alliance campaign as they were beaten 5-1 by Penrhyncoch at Stansty Park.

With their relegation already assured, Park sought a morale-boosting victory before their return to the Welsh National League next term.

But the visitors were in unforgiving mood and netted four times in a one-sided second half to inflict Park's 23rd defeat of the season.

Park had taken a 36th minute lead when Richard Jones netted, but were reduced to 10 men soon afterwards when Edgar Lima was shown a straight red card for foul language.

The visitors quickly made their advantage count with Jon Evans netting from the penalty spot to restore parity for the visitors before the interval.

Rob Murfet then put the Roosters ahead soon after the restart with a superb volleyed finish from Evans' cross.

Evans made it 3-1 on 69 minutes when he followed up on a rebound inside the Park box, before completing his hat-trick with an 86th minute penalty after he was brought down.

Late on, Liam Doherty's brilliant curled finish from the edge of the box rounded off the scoring on a miserable night for the hosts.

Interim Park boss Mark Davies said: "It was a disappointing end to the season for us and not the way we wanted our final game to go.

"The challenge now is to keep working hard next season and try to bounce back.

"I just want to thank Daz Lloyd for his help at what's been a really tough time for the club in the last couple of weeks.

"There's a meeting on Sunday where a lot of things will be discussed about the future and who will take charge next season."

Flint Town United dropped two places to 10th in the final league standings after a six-point deduction by league officials.

The Silkmen fielded two ineligible players in their league fixture against Porthmadog, with Ieuan Hewitt and Joe Palmer both out of contract when the fixture was played.

A club statement said: "Due to an unfortunate clerical error which wasn't spotted at the time, both Ieuan Hewitt and Joe Palmer, appeared in the home league match against Porthmadog after the expiry date of their contracts.

"As soon as the mistake was realised, both players did not appear in any of our subsequent fixtures for the rest of the season.

"Now that the matter has been formally dealt with by the disciplinary panel, the club would like to publicly apologise to both Ieuan and Joe for this oversight, and thank them for their understanding of the situation."
