Mohamed Nilam Jayman starred with the ball as Brymbo recorded a 77-run Premier Division success over Connah’s Quay.

Jayman bagged 6-29, and with Gareth Boyes taking 3-16, Brymbo bowled Quay out for just 103 after the Flintshire side had reached 64 for two, Matt Redinger (40) and David Fox (30) in the runs.

Quay, who won the toss, ultimately fell short on their first match of the season as Brymbo had earlier posted 180 for six.

Jayman (22) and Dan Parry (21) had helped Brymbo recover from 57 for three, before Matthew Turner (30 not out) and Rasaratnam Shahjahan (26no) got the Wrexham-based outfit to a total which proved beyond Quay’s reach.

Northop, who head to Brymbo today, claimed their first victory since winning promotion back to the top-flight as they eased to an eight-wicket success at Chirk.

Chirk scored what looked to be a competitive 216 for four, but the Flintshire cruised to 218 for two in reply, Tom Blackwell and Harry Lewis sharing a stand of 169.

Today, Andrew Swarbrick’s Chirk head to Gresford, who are up and running after they played out a tie with visiting Llandudno.

Matthew Cree top scored with 55 for Gresford, who posted 195 for six thanks to Chris Mullock’s unbeaten 38 and 34 from Daniel Williams.

Llandudno looked to be easing towards victory at 95 for one, but Jack Bunkell pocketed 4-26 and Sam Thompson and Williams picked up two wickets apiece as Gresford grabbed a tie.

Hawarden Park’s campaign started on a losing note as they lost by 167 runs at St Asaph.

Park’s lack of match sharpness told as St Asaph cruised to 263 for five, Duncan Midgely (88) and Mathew Ryan (78) in the runs.

After the turnaround, Park limped to 96 all out from 37 overs, Joe Forde top scoring with 31 as Jason Foulkes grabbed 3-18.

Ian Martin’s Park side will hope for better at Bangor this afternoon.

Luke Jones hit 110 as Menai Bridge (243-9) cruised to a 157-run home win over Bangor (86), while Pwllheli (126-6) defeated Denbigh (125-9) by four wickets.

Mold produced a solid display as they claimed a four-wicket win at Abergele in Division One.

Richard Crane pocketed 3-37, while Jamie Ryle and Tom North bagged two wickets apiece as Abergele were bowled out for 133.

George Deniz then anchored the Mold reply with 42, and with a series of other small contributions from his team mates, the Flintshire side won with time to spare.

Bersham wasted little time in wrapping up a nine-wicket home win over Mochdre, who were bowled out for just 109.

Randheer Bandara (4-28) and Nilanka De Silva (3-35) combined with the ball for Bersham, before Nuwan Amarakoon (58no) and Suresh Koswathage (47) saw their side home inside 20 overs.

Pontblyddyn’s batting let them down as they suffered a 27-run defeat at the hands of Bethesda.

Only Nicholas Parry (51) made more than six with the bat as Bethesda limped to 118, 38 of which were extras, Rhys Jones (4-40) and James Birch (3-14) in the wickets.

But for Birch’s 25 at number eight, Pontblyddyn’s reply was disappointing, the Flintshire side bowled out for just 91.
