BRYMBO send out a warning to their Premier Division rivals by ruthlessly beating Pwllheli by seven wickets inside just 53 overs.

Having won the toss and electing to bowl first, Brymbo ripped through newly promoted Pwllheli’s batting line up, the visitors skittled for just 49.

Gareth Boyes (3-7) and Mohamed Nilam Jayman (3-16) led the wicket taking after Dan Parry (2-10) and Rasaratnam Shahjahan (2-15) had impressed with the new ball.

Jayman then eased Brymbo to victory inside 16 overs with an unbeaten 21, opener Gareth Pugh helping with 18.

Northop’s return to the top flight fell somewhat flat as they lost by 184 runs at Menai Bridge.

The decision to win the toss and bowl proved costly for Northop as Menai posted 292 for five, Dion Holden hitting a century with Jack Gower (92) and Luke Jones (51) also in the runs, despite Mark Poynton’s three wickets.

Darren Williams hit 36 at the top of the order in Northop’s reply, but there wasn’t much else to shout about as the Flintshire side collapsed to 108 all out, Ashley Wood and Gerallt Roberts with four wickets apiece.

Gresford fared no better as they were convincingly beaten by 182 runs at Bangor, who posted 262 for four with David Winter hitting 114 and Nadeem Rehman contributing 98.

In reply, only three Gresford players reached double figures, captain Chris Ellwood top scoring with 18, as the away side were rolled out for just 80.

St Asaph showed that they mean business by beating Llandudno by 94 runs.

Nathaniel Scott (58) and Jason Foulkes (42) combined to help St Asaph post 192 for eight, Matthew Jones (4-51) and Danial Evans (3-47) in the wickets for Llandudno.

Foulkes led the way with the ball for St Asaph, the all-rounder bagging 3-24, and with Richard Marsh Evans, Paul Fleming and Duncan Midgley taking two apiece, Llandudno were bowled out for just 98.

Mold got their Division One clash with Llanrwst on – but it was the visiting side that emerged with a 47-run success.

Trefor Williams struck 91 at the top of the order as Llanrwst scored 213 for six from their allotted 50 overs, Richard Crane and Kyran Van Der Kooij with two wickets apiece.

The Crane brothers, John (41) and Richard (33) then offered some resistance with the bat for Mold, but they succumbed and the home side were dismissed for 166.

An unbeaten century from Matthew Harrington ultimately proved the difference as Llay Welfare were beaten by 139 runs at Bethesda.

Harrington fired 144 not out in Bethesda’s 265 for five, Ethan Griffiths and John Lloyd sharing four of the wickets to fall.

That total proved far too big for Llay to chase down as they were bowled out for 126, David Wright (26) and Jacob Roberts (25) top scoring for the losing side.

Dolgellau were also winners as they bowled Abergele out for 92 having posted just 109 to record a 17-run home win.
