The North Wales Cricket League has been given the green light to start next Saturday (April 21).
There were mumblings around the various leagues that the fixture schedule could be altered to allow those struggling to get their grounds playable in time to re-arrange the opening match of the season for a later, mutually agreed date.
But the powers that be have decided to go ahead with the original start date of next weekend.
A statement from North Wales Cricket League, posted on Carmel Cricket Club's Twitter feed, read: "The season will start on time, April 21, and we are not offering any special opportunities to mutually rearrange the opening fixture.
"Variously you believed that we would be opening ourselves up to problems/arguments further down the line.
"That's the democratic decision and let's hope that the better weather forecast for next week enables most of the matches to go ahead."
