David Fox struck an impressive unbeaten century as Connah's Quay kicked off their season with a hard fought 12-run success over Mochdre.

Fox hit 17 fours and three sixes in his 112-ball 122 as Quay posted 285-3 from their 46 overs, which included an important 73 from Darren Jones and 38 by David Powell.

In reply, Mochdre put on 75 for the first wicket, but Quay removed Will Evans (46) and Matthew Humphreys (70) to wrestle the game back in the favour.

Gareth Davies struck an undefeated 78, which included nine fours and a six, before Quay stemmed the flow of runs to run out victorious.

Northop produced an outstanding run chase to beat Llandudno by three wickets and pick up their first victory of the Premier Division season.

Matthew Williams (87) and number eight Liam Naylor (51 not out) were the stand out performers for hosts Northop, who saw Andy Poynton (35) and Darren Williams (28) also contribute as they chased down the target with 10 balls to spare.

The game had been in the balance at the tea interval as Llandudno posted a challenging 251-8, Chris Hardy top scoring with 59 as Paul Cartwright, Tom Blackwell and Mark Poynton all pocketed two wickets apiece.

Brymbo lead the way at the top of the table after their own perfectly timed run chase saw them defeat St Asaph by three wickets.

Matthew Turner was the stand-out performer with the ball for Brymbo, taking 4-45 as St Asaph posted 193-6 from their 35 overs. Despite the early loss of Tim Newhouse, James Claybrook (58) and Ben Roberts (47) rebuilt the innings for Brymbo.

Captain Joss Roberts (31) was also in the runs, before Greg King and Alex Patterson saw the hosts home with three balls to spare.

Hawarden Park started their campaign on a winning note thanks to a four-wicket triumph over visiting Pontblyddyn.

Asked to bat first, Pontblyddyn posted what looked to be a below-par 153 all out from a rain reduced 35 overs.

Alistair Roberts (40), Glenn Chambers (36) and some superb late hitting from Rhys Jones (21) helped Pont reach their total as Mike Wootton (3-38), Campbell Marr 

(2-15) and Craig Wilson (2-15) impressed with the ball for Hawarden.

Park opener Tom Ducker hit 63 from 54 balls as the hosts appeared to be cruising to victory, before a mini collapse, led by Chambers 

(4-42), threatened to derail Hawarden.

But Adam Doyle and Marr helped get them past the finishing post with

five overs remaining.

Menai Bridge saw their scheduled home encounter with Pwllheli washed out, while Bangor's meeting with Denbigh was abandoned in the early stages.

 It was the Ellwood show in Division One as Alex and Chris scored big centuries in Gresford's 228-run triumph over Dolgellau.

Opener Alex struck an unbeaten 171, including 18 fours, while captain

Chris hit 155, which featured 18 fours and four sixes, as Gresford cruised to 348-2 having been asked to bat first.

And Dolgellau couldn't get anywhere near Gresford's total as they were rolled out for 120, Simon Perry (3-23) and Jack Bunkell (2-26) leading the way.

Daniel Clubbe recorded superb figures of 7-28 as Buckley recorded their first victory of the season with a 61-run win over Menai Bridge 2nds.

Clubbe ripped through the Menai line up, and with Simon Nicholls pocketing two wickets and Lee Taylor claiming one, the visitors were skittled for 88.

Earlier Buckley had made their way to 149 all out, openers Andrew

Massey (43) and Nicholls (40) scoring the bulk of the runs before some important contributions from lower order duo Adam Shaw (17) and Sam Evans (14).

Mike Phennah crashed 142 not out as Llay Welfare thumped Llanrwst by 147 runs.

Having been asked to bat first, Llay wasted little time in posting a

daunting 292-3 from just 42 overs, Phennah the star of the show.

Brother David added 48, while John Lloyd helped Llay to their sizeable

total with a knock of 65.

Deflated by their bowling, Llanrwst offered little in the way of resistance, the visitors dismissed for 145. Liam O'Rourke and Nathan Humphreys shared eight Llanrwst wickets.

Mold's trip to Conwy and Marchwiel and Wrexham's scheduled clash at Bodedern both fell foul to the wet weather.

- NORTHOP HALL'S derby clash at Colwyn Bay was abandoned early on in the First Division of the Liverpool Competition.

Hall were put into bat and lost captain Alex Smith for just nine runs. However, the rain arrived leaving Pakistani professional Ammar Mahmood and James Hurlin (10 not out) to head back to the pavilion, as both teams recorded five points each.
