JOSS ROBERTS was left with mixed emotions as Brymbo's top of the table clash with Premier Division champions Menai Bridge was abandoned due to rain.

Captain Roberts and Brymbo, who sit second in the table, had Menai on the ropes after restricting the visitors to 126-8 from 42 rain affected overs, Dan Parry starring with 3-24.

After a delay Brymbo were left needing just 90 from 30 overs to claim a crucial victory, but with the hosts on 6-1 the rain ended the clash early.

Roberts tweeted: “Quality performance today again from the lads vs Menai. Should've been an easy victory but sadly rain stopped us. Gutted but great signs.”

Connah's Quay ended a run of three straight defeats by beating struggling Northop by 57 runs.

Having won the toss Connah's Quay set about posting 283-9, David Powell (61), Martin Burger (54) and David Fox (53) impressing with the bat and Mark Poynton (4-69) the pick of the Northop attack.

After a promising start to their reply, Northop were undone by Ryan Holloway (4-44) and Burger (4-63), captain Poynton leading from the front for the visitors with 68 of their 226 all out.

Pontblyddyn's impressive form continued as Ben Mason's men collected a five-wicket win over Mochdre.

Aside from Will Evans' 66 from 51 balls at the top of the innings and 33 from James French, Pontblyddyn contained the Mochdre batsmen to bowl them out for 197.

Brad Aldous led the Pontblyddyn attack with 4-58, while Rhys Jones

(3-45) and Glenn Chambers (2-48) also impressed.

Despite falling to 20-2, Pont, missing the in-form Ali Roberts, chased down the victory total with 10 overs to spare.

Phil Davies steadied the innings with 46, before Lewis Davies (54no) and Aldous (40no) saw Pontblyddyn over the line.

Hawarden Park wrapped up their third consecutive victory as they beat St Asaph by three wickets.

The Saints recovered from 18-4 to post a challenging 209, Mike Wootton grabbing 3-39 for Hawarden, who were helped to victory inside 43 overs by middle order duo Adam Doyle (53) and Tom Ducker (44).

Llandudno (183) kept their nerve to defeat Denbigh (178) by five runs, while Pwllheli (170-6) defeated Bangor (167) by four wickets.

Usman Butt struck a superb unbeaten 131 in Mold's 216-run crushing of Llanrwst in Division One.

Opener Butt carried his bat, hitting 20 fours in his stand-out innings, which was supported by John Crane (45), Jamie Ryle (30no) and Duane Williams (27) as Mold posted 299-6.

Butt, Crane and Ryle all picked up where they left off after the turnaround, the trio impressing with the ball to help bowl Llanrwst out for just 83.

Ryle led the way with 4-31, while Butt and Crane pocketed two wickets apiece, as did overseas all-rounder Heinrich Botes.

Mohamed Nilam Jayman suffered the misfortune of being dismissed on 99 – but that spearheaded Bersham's 169-run success over Conwy.

Bersham's opener looked set to reach his century before being trapped lbw, although Jayman's dismissal failed to halt the Wrexham-based outfit from reaching 277-8, Nuwan Amarakoon (36) and Dilan Jayawardene (34) also amongst the runs.

Captain Suresh Lakmal Koswathage (5-39) and Asanka Bandara (3-7) then took over with the ball as Conwy were bundled out for 108 inside 24 overs.

John Lloyd was also unlucky to be dismissed two runs short of a century in Llay Welfare's 76-run win over Dolgellau.

Lloyd struck 12 fours and two sixes before being caught on 98, while David Phennah hit 68 as Llay made their way to 259-7.

Phennah and Nathan Humphreys bagged two wickets apiece in Dolgellau's reply, but run outs caused the most damage with four restricting the visitors to 183-8.

Roman Walker starred as Marchwiel and Wrexham eased their relegation fears with a seven-wicket win over Menai Bridge 2nds.

Walker pocketed figures of 6-18 from 11 overs as Menai were restricted to 164-9 after being invited to bat first.

Marchwiel lost their openers cheaply in reply, but Chris Woodcock steadied the ship with a half century, before George Forgrave (31no) and Nick Husbands (28no) saw the visitors over the line.

Buckley were comfortable 122-run winners as they posted 283-9 before bowling visiting Bethesda out for 161, while Gresford recorded a routine eight-wicket win over Bodedern, who were bowled out for just 114.
