Mold were unable to pull off the great escape as their two-wicket loss to St Asaph signaled relegation to Division One.

Needing victory to stand any realistic chance of avoiding the drop, Mold were asked to bat first and went about posting 195 all out.

Key duo JP van Aswegen (61) and Usman Butt (54) were both in the runs, as was opener Richard Crane, who struck 41 at the top of the order.

Van Aswegen also pocketed 3-37 after the turnaround, but St Asaph were able to edge home with five overs to spare.

Those four points picked up by Mold could still have been enough to prevent an unwanted relegation, although Pwllheli made it three successive wins to drag themselves out of trouble.

Facing in-form Brymbo, who were safely sitting in mid table, Pwllheli claimed a crucial three-wicket victory.

Tim Newhouse continued his recent form with 59 and Joss Roberts, Ben Roberts and George Bourne all got starts before getting out as travelling Brymbo posted 232.

Gareth Boys and Dwayne Bernard both picked up two wickets to put the pressure on Pwllheli, but Nadeem Rehman hit an unbeaten 87 to see his side to victory with an over to spare.

Joining Mold in Division One next season are Llanrwst, who were beaten by five wickets at Pontblyddyn.

Chris Moss (3-47), Kevin Owen (2-27) and Mark Neath (2-47) were amongst the wickets as Pont restricted Llanrwst to 234-9.

Glenn Chambers carried his bat for Pont after the interval to finish unbeaten on 92, while captain Jeff Lituri (55) and Lewis Davies (41) chipped in with key runs to see the hosts home with 15 balls remaining and secure a third placed finish.

Hawarden Park survived by just nine points as they suffered a six-wicket defeat to Bangor, who again relied on a Blake Dean century.

The recalled Mike Parton struck a fine unbeaten half century as Hawarden posted 230-7, Tom Ducker, Ian Dixon and Ian Martin also chipping in.

But Dean played another flawless innings to pass 1,500 runs for the season and help lead Bangor to victory, captain Robbie Marshall also reaching 50.

Connah's Quay wrapped up the runners-up spot thanks to a 110-run win against visiting Mochdre.

Nick McConnochie (86) and David Fox (69) were in the runs as Quay reached 282-6, a total which proved more than enough.

Gavin Parry claimed four wickets and Dave Powell grabbed three as Mochdre were bowled out for 171.

Matt Bixby struck his second consecutive century as champions Menai Bridge (353-6) beat Llandudno (263) by 90 runs, despite Sam Rimmington's 120 for the away side.
