Joss Roberts and James Claybrook produced stunning individual performances to boost Brymbo's survival hopes in the Premier Division.

Roberts struck 107 in 128 balls, before Claybrook took 7-26 as the Wrexham side thrashed St Asaph by 134 runs.

Having been put into bat, Roberts and Claybrook (36) gave the visiting side a solid base, before Ben Roberts struck an unbeaten 32 to see the team to a commanding total of 265-4 off their 50 overs.

Captain Roberts hit seven fours and three sixes in his knock, before his main bowler Claybrook ripped the St Asaph batting line-up apart with a deadly spell of fast bowling. He dismissed the top six batsmen, with opener Matthew Ryan hitting 40.

Ali Khalid took 2-20 to finish St Asaph off, all out for 131 in the 41st over, and haul Brymbo off the bottom of the league.

Mold secured a shock win over leaders Menai Bridge, winning by four runs in a final over thriller to inflict only Menai's second defeat of the season.

South African overseas Johannes van Aswegan struck 81 including 14 boundaries as Mold posted 197-6 against the champions-elect, as George Deniz hit 38.

A brilliant spell of 5-50 off 12 overs from Mold's Jamie Ryle reduced Menai to 129-9.

Still requiring 69 for victory, with Chris Boulton taking 2-50.

But Ashley Wood (27) and Gerallt Roberts (36) produced a fighting final wicket stand to put Menai on the brink of victory. Van Aswegan took the ball for the final over, and finally got Roberts out, as he was stumped off the penultimate ball.

The win lifts Mold out of the drop zone after Pontblyddyn beat Pwllheli by five wickets at Alder Meadow.

Having been asked to bat first, Pwllheli were bowled out for just 112 in 36 overs. Pont's Glenn Chambers produced a superb spell as he took 4-10 off 10 overs.

Chris Moss (2-27) and Rhys Jones (2-29) helped wrap up the innings with Morgan Murray-Williams (53) the only real response.

In reply, Pont openers Ed Jones (27) and Phil Davies (20) got the innings off to a good start, before Julian Morris' quickfire 21 saw them home on 113-5 with 17 overs to spare.

Hawarden Park picked up a much-needed win to ease any lingering relegation worries, as they beat Llanwrst by 35 runs.

Batting first, Park skipper Tom Ducker scored a fantastic 94 and found support from Jehan Yahathugoda (62) to help post a total of 210-6.

Matt Redinger (5-39) was the pick of Llanwrst's attack and he then scored 68 as the home side looked to chase down the win.

But they were all out for 175 in 44.2 overs, as Ducker (3-48) and Ian Martin (3-51) weighed in with the wickets. Campbell Marr took 2-22 as Hawarden moved up to seventh in the table.

Connah's Quay were dismissed for just 90 in 28 overs as they fell to a disappointing seven wicket defeat at Bangor.

David Powell (30) was the only score of note for Quay, as Waldeed Idress and David Winter took five wickets each for hosts Bangor.

Bangor cruised to their target in 24 overs, Australian batsman Blake Dean smashing an unbeaten 71. Darren Leach (2-36) was Quay’s best bowler on the day.

Saturday’s results means only five points separate bottom-of-the-league Pwllheli, and fourth from bottom Mold, with Llanwrst and Brymbo sandwiched in between.
