FANS, players, staff and managers at Chester FC paid tribute to much-missed Blues fan Cameron Rowley on Saturday with a minute's applause.

Cameron, a big supporter of the squad, sadly passed away on August 6 this year from a rare cancer at the age of 11.

His brothers Ben, Ethan and Jack walked out on to the pitch with the match ball as everyone at the Swansway Chester Stadium took part in the impeccably observed minute's applause in advance of Chester FC's FA Cup qualifying round match against City of Liverpool FC.

The Blues went on to win the game 4-0 and afterwards Cameron's dad Brenden, who was also at the game, wrote afterwards on Twitter: "Thank you so much to Chester FC for an amazing tribute to Cameron today.

"The fans, staff and players gave Cameron's brothers Ben, Ethan and Jack a very heartwarming reception when they were mascots today.

"My boys truly felt honoured to be Chester FC fans today. Chester is a family club and my family are proud to be a part of it.

"A big thank you to [Chester FC community trust chief executive] Jim Green and [Chester FC director] Jeff Banks and all other members of staff who helped make today truly special. My boys love you all.

"Cameron loved Chester FC they were a massive influence in his life.

"Thank you so much. I cannot thank everyone enough for the love and support."
