Chester FC’s eagerly anticipated pre-season friendly against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Saturday, July 7 is heading for a sell-out.

Tickets went on general sale on Wednesday morning and all seated tickets quickly sold out, with limited availability left on the Harry McNally Terrace, with the all-ticket match almost certain to now be a 4,500 sell out.

Liverpool have sold out their allocation across both the South and West Stands, after being given extra tickets by the Blues.

Klopp’s Champions League finalists begin their pre-season campaign at the Swansway Chester Stadium, with the Reds set to field a strong line-up of players who are not involved at the World Cup in Russia.

Among those set to face Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s Blues are Guinean international Naby Keita, who arrived on Merseyside over the weekend after sealing a £52.5million move from RB Leipzig.

Brazilian international Fabinho – who missed out narrowly on a place in their World Cup squad – has signed for Liverpool in a £39million deal from Monaco and the midfielder could also make his non-competitive debut against the Blues.

Liverpool return to pre-season training on Monday and a host of first-team players are set to be included for the friendly with Chester, after a gentleman’s agreement between the two clubs to ensure Klopp fields a strong side, which is set to include the likes of Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum.

It will be the first glimpse of Chester's summer signings for Blues fans, with new additions Steve Howson, Grant Shenton, Dom Smalley, Jon Moran, Scott Burton, John Pritchard and Matty Hughes all set to feature.
